Description

These Mexican street tacos are a celebration of bold, balanced flavors. Fresh corn tortillas cradle perfectly seasoned meat, bright onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. Perfect for weeknights, casual dinners, or sharing with friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank or skirt steak (or chicken/pork)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 810 corn tortillas
  • 1 small white onion, diced
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 limes, cut into wedges
  • Salsa roja or verde (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate meat with olive oil, garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper for 1–12 hours.
  2. Chop onion, cilantro, and lime wedges.
  3. Heat grill or skillet until hot. Cook meat 3–5 minutes per side. Let rest, then slice thin.
  4. Warm tortillas for 30 seconds per side.
  5. Assemble tacos: tortilla, meat, onions, cilantro, lime, salsa if desired.

Notes

  • Slice meat against the grain for tenderness.
  • Adjust toppings to taste.
  • Warm tortillas just before serving for best texture.
