- 1 tsp baking soda

- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions

- Cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; gradually mix into wet ingredients.
- Fold in chocolate chips. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
- Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
