Ingredients
- 2 cups apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup yellow mustard
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Whisk together vinegar and mustard in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar and stir until fully dissolved.
- Mix in red pepper flakes, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and salt.
- Simmer gently for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Transfer to a glass jar or bottle and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
- For a sweeter sauce, add an extra tablespoon of brown sugar.
- For more spice, increase the red pepper flakes or add a dash of cayenne.
- Sauce tastes best after resting overnight in the fridge.
